Start by reducing signals close to the face

Try reducing friction in four ways:
- Make darkness more complete, especially from the sides.
- Remove irritating textures near the face.
- Avoid tight straps or pressure points.
- Choose stable sensory input over changing sensory input.
Stable does not always mean heavy. It means predictable. A soft, even boundary can sometimes be easier for the body to ignore than a narrow band, a slipping mask, or a changing patch of light.
